Moa-ZIP

MoaZip is a filename restoration app that converts filenames created in macOS NFD format into Windows-compatible NFC format.

The project was designed to solve issues where filenames in various languages, including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese, become separated, broken, or unreadable when compressed files created on macOS are opened on Windows.

The name MoaZip reflects the idea of bringing scattered characters back together and restoring filenames inside compressed files. The project helps users easily resolve multilingual filename corruption issues that occur when sharing files across different operating systems.

& Project Direction

Through client interviews and consultations we derived the project's core requirements, and based on those insights we designed it around five areas that needed improvement from user experience and brand perspectives.

Implement a feature that converts macOS NFD-based filenames into Windows-compatible NFC format

Support filename corruption issues across multiple languages, including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese

Provide a UI that allows users to compare filenames before and after conversion

Design a structure that can easily organize broken filenames across files, folders, and compressed archives

Build a simple interface with dark mode support, without requiring complicated settings
