DevFive is proud to announce that two of its open source projects have been selected for the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) Han-ium Project. Out of three submitted proposals, two were selected — a result that carries significance beyond the numbers alone. The fact that both selected projects are open source-based makes this achievement all the more meaningful, as it represents external recognition of the core technological philosophy that DevFive has long pursued.
The Han-ium Project is an industry-academia collaboration program in the IT sector, supervised by the Ministry of Science and ICT. It aims to have companies and universities jointly carry out practical software projects, going beyond simple research support to develop technologies and services that can be genuinely utilized in the field. The outcomes are expected to connect to papers, open source contributions, and commercialization. Through this selection, DevFive has been recognized as a company with the technical capability and direction that aligns with the program's purpose.
The two selected projects each explore the potential of open source in distinct technical domains.
At DevFive, we believe that technology should not stop at implementation — it should grow into something extensible through open source. Under the conviction that great technology creates greater value when it is shared and developed together rather than kept to oneself, this project is also being carried out with the goal of making a meaningful contribution to the open source ecosystem.
Through the Han-ium Project, DevFive plans to simultaneously pursue research outcomes and commercialization centered on open source-based software. Research results derived from the project will lead to academic papers, and the developed software will be completed as practical outcomes connected to real services. DevFive will remain focused on ensuring that technology does not stay within the lab, but becomes results that work in the real world.
DevFive will continue to prove the potential of technology and set new standards through open source.
